the title of this show is a nod to alchemists of old who believed
dew to be a distilled essence of the luminaries;
the secret fire of nocturnal air
to them, dew offered proof that the visible world was permeable
vol. i chronicles experiences of infinity permeating place,
a cartographic encounter between the luminous
above and chthonic below
these are landscapes of dispersion where mystery entered matter
and the self was slowly distilled through
rupture & rapture
they do not seek to represent the material world as it appeared
rather the mystery that moved beneath appearance,
tracing the subtle residue of moments when
self, place and infinity converged
Sarah Luna Van Arsdale

Sarah Luna Van Arsdale is an artist whose practice studies moments of reconciliation in a life bound by paradox. She works with oil on linen and the written word to study her reciprocal relationship with both physical and psychic landscapes.
Sarah Luna is co-founder of Dove Files, a creative studio specializing in brand and web development, and holds a BFA in Interior Design from Parsons School of Design and a BA in Religious Studies and Visual Studies from Eugene College of Liberal Arts.
